Well, the question here is not how she got 8 points. It is how she lost that 1 point? Her speaking didn't have any deficiencies, so she deserve a 9. Why 8?
Isn't it better to focus on her mistakes?
is it just me or this interveiw looks so robotic and without any soul

it is perfect example to achieve higher score in speaking going thoroughly each question and answers and using techniques and skills rather than to be judgmental and its better to undertake the mistakes even interviewee gets 5 band in speaking

Had my ielts results out recently (general training)
Got an overall 8 that includes 8 in speaking
Definitely an improvement from my ielts results (academic) 5 years prior where I got 6.5 overall.
And it’s odd coz I speak English as a first language in my family.
I think she deserves better than 8

Interviewer and interviewee should have different colours in subtitles.
