Proud new papa Keith Urban’s current single, “You Look Good In My Shirt,” is sitting at #6 on the Billboard list this week. Think it’ll make it to #1? I don’t see why not!
The above concert is from March when Keith performed at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. “You Look Good In My Shirt” starts about halfway in after some fancy guitar work.
I have to admit, Tim McGraw has done a pretty good job getting himself some good movie roles!
He’s currently working on a movie with Robert Duvall called “Get Low,” and though there’s no word yet on what it’s actually about it’s already slated for a May 2009 release.
Tim has starred in several movies already, including Flicka, Four Christmases (out later this year), The Kingdom, and Friday Night Lights.
Billy Ray Cyrus stars with Heather Locklear and Olesya Rulin (High School Musical) in “Flying By,” a movie about a real estate developer deciding to “rejoin in his high school rock band after 25 years, putting his marriage and business at risk.”
Filming looks to be complete and the movie is slated to be released next year. It’s not something I’ll be rushing to the theater to see but then I’m not a huge BRC fan anyway - are you?
Kellie Pickler has announced her next album will be released this September!
The self-titled sophomore album will hit stores September 30th and includes the single “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful.”
Other songs on the album include “Best Days Of Your Life,” which was co-written by Kellie with Taylor Swift who sings background vocals!
Kellie says: “I’m so excited and proud of the new album. I’ve learned so much since the first album, like the fact that Budapest is the capital of Hungary,” she laughed. “The material on the new album is part small town girl, but also a reflection of the experiences I’ve had over the last two years. I’ve matured, some, seen a lot more of the world, and naming the album Kellie Pickler says, ‘this album is me, this is who I am and where I am.’”
“To Make You Feel My Love” became a hit for Garth Brooks on August 1, 1998. I can’t believe it’s been almost ten years!
It was actually originally written by Bob Dylan and was on his album “Time Out of Mind,” and has been covered by more than a dozen other artists since, including Trisha Yearwood (the version featuring her and Garth was on the 1998 Hope Floats soundtrack), Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson, and Neil Diamond.
The 42nd Annual Country Music Association Awards have been schedule to air November 12 from Nashville on ABC.
Twelve awards will be given: Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, Musician of the Year, Music Video of the Year and New Artist of the Year (formerly known as the Horizon Award).
Last year’s nominations were announced in August, so we can probably count on the same timeframe for this year too! Who do you think should be nominated and/or who deserves to win?
Alan Jackson will be kicking off his “Good Time” fall tour starting October 2. The majority of the shows will be throughout the midwest, Canada, and the west coast. Trace Adkins will be opening for him!

Gretchen Wilson released her newest single “Don’t Do Me No Good” yesterday. The song is from her upcoming album “I Got Your Country Right Here,” which is due to be released in October. Have you heard it? What did you think?
Gretchen is still putting the finishing touches on the album and touring this summer. She also just completed her GED, and says “What a great way to kick off the summer with the new tune. After being on the road and taking the time to graduate, I’m ready to rock again on country radio.”
